We created a very special CD to be used as the wedding favors for our guests. We tried to tell the story of our love to this point using some of our favorite songs. We hope you enjoy the music as much as we do.

Pigs on the Wing pt. 1 (Pink Floyd)

A.J.: What’s the saying, “When pigs fly...”? Sometimes it seems like that when you are looking for that special someone.

Man on the Corner (Genesis)

“See the lonely man there on the corner, what he’s waiting for I don’t know...”
A.J.: There have been many times, even when I was in a relationship, that I have felt lonely. Since Julielyn and I have been together I have never felt alone, even when we are apart. My close and longtime friends all know what a huge Genesis fan I am. This song has always been very dear to me so I picked this to represent myself before meeting Julielyn.

Angel (Jimi Hendrix)

“Angel came down from heaven yesterday...”
A.J.: Winged creatures are very prominent in our new house. This is one of my favorite Hendrix tunes. And of course Julielyn is my angel and this song represents us meeting each other.

Sugar Magnolia (Grateful Dead)

“Sugar Magnolia, blossoms blooming…”
Julielyn: A.J. and I have been able to watch our own Magnolia tree blossom this spring.  This song puts a big smile on my face.  It reminds me of care free summer days and being a daydreamer myself, I love the “Sunshine Daydream” ending.
A.J.: This song definitely represents Julielyn in the story. She’s the glue that keeps me together.

Your Smiling Face (James Taylor)

“Whenever I see your smiling face, I have to smile myself...”
A.J.: When I think of first meeting Julielyn, I always remember her smile the most. She seemed like the happiest person I ever met when I would go to her store. I’m sure you’ll all get a taste of her smile at our wedding.

Let My Love Open the Door (Pete Townshend)

Julielyn: While I was in Utah, A.J. made me a special C.D. compilation of love songs.  On it included this song which now has special meaning to me.
A.J.: A classic song for the soundtrack of anyone’s lovelife. We were both dating other people when we first met but love has a funny way on people.

The Same Moon (Phil Collins)

Julielyn: This song was also on the C.D. compilation and one night when I was very lonely, A.J. had called and asked me to go outside and find the moon.  We shared a special moment as we both stared at the same moon.
A.J.: One of my favorite Phil love songs (and it didn’t make his Love Songs CD?!?!?). Julielyn moved to Utah for a short period of time and we used to call eachother often. One day I stole Phil’s idea and while talking with her I told her to go outside and find the moon. I was already outside looking at the moon, it was a full moon if I remember right. So we were both able to look at the same thing from many miles away.

Feels Like Home (Chantal Kreviazuk)

Julielyn: When I was living in Utah talking with A.J. on the phone made me feel like I was back home again. The first time I heard this song, it was as if I already knew it.  It really touched me and as I listened to the lyrics I found that it expressed a lot of the feelings I have for A.J.  During the line “If you knew how much this moment means to me” I picture us kissing for the first time as husband and wife.

Come See What Love Has Done (Seal)

A.J.: Here’s a treat for you Seal fans, this is an unreleased song from his first album. At this point in the story Julielyn has moved back from Utah and all those phone conversations have blossomed in to something more.

Reuben & Cherise (the Dead)

“If you could see my heart you would know it’s true, there is none Cerise except for you”

Julielyn: As we listened to Joan Osborne sing those lyrics at Red Rocks, I had no idea that a few days later, A.J. would express those feelings to me by asking me to be his wife.

No More Do I (Phil Lesh & Friends)

“Let me love you without ending”

Julielyn: My love for A.J. is never ending.  I love each of the verses in this song because each one can relate to our relationship.
A.J.: Our favorite P&F tune. JL and I along with our good friend Phil (not Lesh or Collins) went on a desert road trip in 2003. I made a compilation for the trip and this was on it. So it’s imagary always reminds me of that trip. Plus it’s just one of those songs with great lyrics and a real good feel to it. We’re glad that P&F have continued to play this song in their live shows.

Lavender (Marillion)

A.J.: Well this song takes me way back and reminds me of being a teenager already dreaming of getting married one day. This would be the part of the story that I decide to propse to Julielyn.

Carpet Crawl (Genesis)

A.J.: If I had to pick my alltime favorite song this is it. To this day I still don’t know what it’s about but then again isn’t life just as much a mystery. On the day JL and I got engaged we hiked through Byrce Canyon and right before I popped the question I played this song as we gazed out over the amphitheatre.

Follow You Follow Me (Genesis)

Julielyn: This has become one of my favorite songs on this C.D.  It’s represents the happy point in our relationship where we decided to spend the rest of our lives together.
A.J.: What better song to pick for the part of the story where I ask Julielyn to marry me? I think it speaks for itself.

All My Love (Led Zepplin)

“All of my love to you...”
A.J.: Well I guess she said yes! A very emotional song for a very emotional part of the story. There were definitely lots of tears being shed after the big question and I’m sure even more will be shed at the wedding.

Songbird (Fleetwood Mac)

Julielyn: My sister-in-law will be signing this song during our ceremony.
A.J.: We made several different compilations before we ended up deciding on this group of songs. We felt like there wasn’t enough of a female voice represented on the CD and we kept searching for the right song. One day while I had my itunes playing in random mode this song came on. I forgot what a beautiful song it is and Julielyn felt the same way about it.

Your Own Special Way (Genesis)

Julielyn: A.J. and I wake up to this song every morning…or at least as much as we hear before I turn off the alarm.  =)
A.J.: For those of you that were at the wedding, this is the song we had our first dance to. Another beautiful song that will represent our marriage in the story.

Pigs on the Wing pt. 2 (Pink Floyd)

A.J.: Well we’re back where we started, almost. Only this time we have each other to help weather the storms and share in all the beautiful moments that lie ahead. Maybe pigs do fly afterall...
